Badminton Gold Quest (BGQ) is pleased to announce scholarship support for U.S. athletes selected to compete in the International Badminton U16 Shonai Invitational 2026, to be held in Shonai, Japan on July 25–26, 2026.
The Shonai Invitational is a prestigious international youth badminton tournament that brings together some of the most promising U16 players from Asia, Europe, Oceania, and North America. The event provides a unique opportunity for young athletes to compete at an elite international level and gain valuable experience on the global stage.
To support the development of young U.S. badminton players, Badminton Gold Quest will award scholarships of $3,000 each to the Boys Singles winner and the Girls Singles winner representing the United States at the event.
These scholarships are part of BGQ’s continued mission to support emerging talent, expand opportunities for international competition, and strengthen the future of badminton in the United States. By helping offset the financial burden associated with international tournaments, BGQ aims to ensure that talented athletes have the resources they need to compete and grow at the highest levels of the sport.
The organization remains committed to investing in the next generation of athletes and creating pathways for U.S. players to compete and succeed on the world stage.
As international badminton continues to evolve, initiatives like these play an important role in fostering competitive excellence and encouraging young athletes to pursue their ambitions in the sport.
Badminton Gold Quest looks forward to supporting Team USA athletes at the 2026 Shonai Invitational and wishes all competitors the very best as they prepare for this exciting international event.
